Day 18

And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven,’ Matthew 18 v 3

Back in November we had our City Youth Takeover, where our 11 - 18yr olds run our Sunday service from start to finish. We had a fantastic time! That Sunday we learnt about the ‘The F-words of Youth’ and how God has created us to have the wisdom of our age but the Faith, Fun and Friendship of our youth. Today we are going to remind ourselves of the importance of having Faith like a child and when we have faith like a child we pray like a child. Children have this incredible ability to have this amazing faith in themselves, their abilities, their friends and in God. My kids first reaction when ever they hurt themselves is that they need it kissed, prayed for and maybe a plaster. The guys and girls in CY are more surprised when something doesn’t workout rather than most adults we are surprised when it does. And why wouldn’t they, they have their parents or guardians looking after most of their needs. We forget that we also have this from God but because we don’t have the visual representation reminding us of this father continually look out for us; our faith in him and ourselves dwindles. I am confident that all of us would love to live a life free from doubt, that our faith no matter the situation was enough to conquer every obstacle. Well let us continually remind ourselves of the Father we have in Heaven and that he is looking out for us at every turn. So remember in your prayer time who you are praying to.

The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the LORD holds them by the hand.
